Hermeneia: Journal of Hermeneutics, Art Theory and Criticism is a philosophical, international peer-reviewed journal. We publish original articles from the areas of hermeneutics, art theory, and art criticism. Articles in other fields (practical philosophy, moral, political, and legal philosophy) are also welcome if they can be justified as philosophical interpretations, as are book reviews and philosophical debates. We accept submissions in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish. Hermeneia: Journal of Hermeneutics, Art Theory and Criticism appears in print, but also online, as an open access journal. | |

EDITORIAL POLICY | |
We publish original articles from the areas of hermeneutics, art theory, and art criticism. Articles in practical philosophy, moral, political, and legal philosophy are also welcome if they can be justified as philosophical interpretations, as are book reviews and philosophical debates. We only publish articles that have not been previously published. Republication of an already published article is possible only in exceptional cases. Manuscripts should not be currently under consideration with another journal. The opinions expressed in published articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the opinion of the editors, or members of the editorial board. Submission. Limiting conditions of publication. Although there is no restriction for submitting scientific articles, the journal have a minimum scheduled interval of three consecutive issues after a previously published article of the same (co)author(s). The official acceptance of a scientific article does not mean “immediate publication”. Authors shall be notified about the estimated period or specific issue where their articles will be published. The decision granting a derogation to this rule is made by the editorial board, based on the recommendation of the scientific board. Book reviews ans interviews are not subject to this rule. |

JOURNAL SECTIONS | |
Each issue contains research articles on a specific philosophical topic. The journal has two sections, the former on a specific topic and the latter called Varia, as well as a Book Reviews section. | |
LANGUAGES | |
We accept submissions in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish. | |
PEER REVIEW POLICY
Papers are refereed by two anonymous reviewers. The refereeing period is 3 months. Authors will be notified by email if their text is accepted for publication, recommended for revision, or rejected. All submissions should be prepared for double blind peer reviewing: authors should remove all information that could reveal their identity and provide their name and contact information on a separate page. |
